MORE-TEM Installation

14.11.2024

The first successful alignment and operation of the MORE-TEM nanospectrometer, which is kindly supported by the ERC Synergy Grant MORE-TEM (more-tem.univie.ac.at), was shown end of October 2024.

To mark the occasion, a small informal celebration took place on November 4, 2024 in the newly renovated MORE-TEM laboratories as part of OVID (ovid.univie.ac.at) laboratories at Sternwarte. This included a seminar presentation and discussion about future developments of our MORE-TEM by our project partner Max Haider (Wolf and Kavli Prize winner) from CEOS. The guided lab tours were also highly appreciated by members of our faculty, members of the Department of Astrophysics as well as from the Facility and Resources Management unit (RRM), whom we thank a lot for their continuous support regarding the necessary renovations. The company JEOL who developed the platform of our MORE-TEM prototype, was also present and we thank them for the fast installation and implementation of our MORE-TEM.
