Prof. Gero Vogl | Dynamics of Condensed Systems, University of Vienna
Spreading phenomena are encountered almost everywhere in our world. Spreading matters in physics is called diffusion and is of outstanding importance for formation and stability of materials. We have developed a couple of new methods to investigate diffusion from an atomistic viewpoint, and I will explain their ideas by a short journey visiting some of these methods.

Dr. Lorenz-Mathias Stadler | Kliment & Henhapel Patentanwälte OG – Vienna (AT)
The talk will provide an insight into the education and the daily work of a patent attorney and how skills acquired in the course of studies and the PhD thesis can be applied advantageously. Some basics about patents, maybe the most prominent industrial property rights, will be presented, possibly with one or another urban legend being rectified.
