The COLLDENSE network unites 7 academic and 2 industrial partners, and involve 5 associate partners to train 15 early stage researchers (ESRs). We aim to develop the concept of COLLoids with DEsigned respoNSE, leading to our acronym: COLLDENSE.
The subjects vary from soft repulsive colloids, magnetic colloids, soft microgel particles, telechelic star polymers to droplets with interfaces stabilized by solid particles and DNA nano-constructs. The detailed analysis of mixtures of these components, as well as of their equilibrium and nonequilibrium thermodynamics and rheology, is the other important facet of the project.
This year’s meeting of the COLLDENSE network will be from Monday, November 13th, to Thursday, November 16th, 2017 and it will take place at the Department of Physics, University of Vienna. The meeting will cover training sessions for the ESRs dedicated to computer simulations and soft skills as well as talks from the PhD students on their scientific progress.
