Workshop and Technical Services
Workshop and Technical Services Team: Responsibilities
The equipment includes three milling machines and five lathes. In addition, there are further metalworking machines such as drilling machines, metal saws and grinding machines.
A guillotine shear and a sheet metal bending machine are the main equipment for working sheet metal. These are mainly used for manufacturing housings and enclosures.
The equipment consists of a gas-shielded arc welding unit, which can also be used to weld stainless steel and aluminium.
A CNC lathe as well as a 3-axis and a 4-axis CNC milling machine, combined with modern CAM software, make it possible to manufacture even complex components and small production runs.
A well-equipped electronics workstation enables efficient circuit development and fast troubleshooting.
Further responsibilities of individual team members include:
Involvement in the planning, procurement and operation of the audio-visual equipment in the lecture halls.
Together with the team of the introductory experimental physics course, the demonstration experiments for the introductory lectures are assembled and presented in the lecture hall. In the electronics lab course, students are introduced to the fundamentals of analogue and digital electronics.
