Soft colloidal glasses: Scilight in the Journal of Chemical Physics

19.07.2021

Researchers from Vienna, Crete and Cali show how to steer the rheology of soft mixtures. | New paper in "Journal of Chemical Physics".

A publication resulting from a collaboration between theoretical and experimental groups from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna, FORTH (Heraklion, Crete) and the Antonio Narino University of Cali, Colombia, have been selected as Editor's Pick and highlighted as a Scilight (https://aip.scitation.org/doi/10.1063/10.0005672) by the Journal of Chemical Physics. The research has demonstrated how mixtures between hard and soft colloids allow the manipulation of dynamically arrested states in competition with demixing transitions and the role played by size ratios and colloidal softness in this process.

The paper was published in the collection commemorating the legendary work of Asakura and Oosawa on depletion forces.
