Assistant professorship for Oliver Heckl since 1st June 2020

08.07.2020

The research group of Oliver Heckl works in the field of optical frequency comb spectroscopy and semiconductor optics.

We strive to extend frequency comb technology further into the mid-IR spectral region and pursue applications with these frequency combs in trace gas detection, precision spectroscopy, and molecular fingerprinting. Progress in the mid-IR spectral region has been hindered mainly by the lack of high quality and low loss optics. We explore the advantages and possibilities of newly available supermirror technology based on crystalline semiconductor layers provided by our industrial partner Thorlabs.
