Olivier Sarbach (Mexico): Five Topics in Black Hole Physics

Montag, 4. September 2017, 10:30

Ort:  Ludwig-Boltzmann-Hörsaal, Boltzmanngasse 5, EG

I will provide a brief overview of my current and past research work which has focused on the initial-boundary value formulation for Einstein's field equations, the stability of compact objects, the gravitational collapse of a dust cloud, some simple accretion models, and the relativistic kinetic theory of gases. All of these topics play an important role in the understanding for the formation, the dynamics, and the structure of black holes, one of the most fascinating objects predicted by Einstein's theory of gravity.
